Unbreakable (2000) WARNING - SPOILERS BELOW.
The Digest David Dunn (Bruce Willis) is having martial problems and decides to look for a job in New York. On the way back to Philadelphia, the train he is riding in, crashes and he is the sole survivor. After he leaves a memorial service for the victims, he finds a mysterious note left on his car causes him to re-examine his life. Why did he survive? Why hasn't he ever been sick? Why doesn't he ever get hurt? He finds out that Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) is the one that left him the note and goes to him for answers. Answers that he doesn't want to believe. Elijah has a theory. The theory is that if he himself has bones so brittle that they can break when he sneezes, then there has to be someone out there just the opposite whose bones never break. Could David be that person? David's son, Joseph (Spencer Treat Clark) believes it. So much so that he pulls a gun on his dad to prove to him that he is invincible like Elijah said. Elijah and Joseph just want David to believe. They think that once he answers his true calling, he will no longer feel empty and sad each day when he awakens. The question becomes, if David believes, then what? The Dish First things first. This review is really short because most of the movie takes place after a spoiler. I can't tell you some of the most important aspects of the movie without ruining it for you. I can tell you this much; this movie blew goats. It SUCKED. First of all, it's not about what the trailers lead you to think it's about. Ain't nothing super or natural about this film. This was one of the worse plots I've had to suffer through in a good year. When I found out why David was "unbreakable" I was through. When I found out the true nature of Elijah, I was too through. Oh and excuse me, I was ready to start cussing when that little boy didn't so much as get sent to his room for playing with a gun. He should have been beat within an inch of life for pulling a gun on his father. Lawd that made my head hurt. Y'all don't waste your hard-earned money on this. I'm sorry. I love Bruce Willis, but this movie stunk like a sewage treatment plant. The one and ONLY bright spot for me was seeing Charlayne Woodard. Y'all may remember her as "Cindy" (I'd love to get a copy of this if anyone has it). It was the black version of Cinderella that came on television in the mid 70's. She also starred in "Ain't Misbehavin'" The Directive
Unwatchable
