Rated PG-13; running time of 1 hour and 39 minutes Genre: Action/Adventure Written by: Don Rhymer Directed by: John Whitesell Cast: Martin Lawrence, Nia Long, Emily Procter, Zachary Levi , Mark Moses, Kat Dennings ,Chloe Grace Moretz, Marisol Nichols, Josh Flitter WARNING - SPOILERS BELOW. The DigestMalcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) is itching to get back into the field, but he is stuck being the FBI safety expert after having made a promise to his wife Sherry (Nia Long) to take it easy. Sherry is expecting their child and she just doesn’t want him to get hurt. He understands and begrudgingly agrees to her request. What neither Sherry or Malcolm count on is the Fuller family. Dad Tom, (Mark Moses) is busy software executive who doesn’t have time for his family and mom Leah (Emily Proctor) who smothers her children with organization. But Tom is not so busy that he can’t get into to trouble. He is the primary suspect in a scheme to create a computer virus, or orm if you will, that will cripple the world’s governments. Malcolm conjure up Big Momma to play nanny to the three Fuller children and hopefully get to the bottom of the situation before it’s too late. The DishOkay. Let me preference this by saying that despite what I think about the movie, my audience thoroughly enjoyed it and the proof is in the box office receipts. So it really doesn’t matter what I think or say. That said, I didn’t find this movie funny, one bit. I found it to be a hot mess. It was so implausible that all I could do is shake my head. There is almost nothing worse for me than an unfunny comedy. This movie was poorly written and that was the biggest crime. It was like 20 5 minute sketches haphazardly strung together and that was a huge disappointment. It’s almost as if 9 different people wrote it and 4 of them were high. The Directive Truthfully, save your money. If you just have to see it, wait for cable. It hurts my heart to not be able to recommend this one, but I just can’t.
