SYNOPSIS PBS Home Video and Paramount Home Entertainment present all-new compelling investigations into the family histories of women and men at the forefront of contemporary black America in the highly-anticipated AFRICAN AMERICAN LIVES 2, arriving on DVD May 6, 2008. Hosted by eminent Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr., this fascinating follow up to the popular and widely praised original series takes viewers on a highly entertaining and educational journey into the past. AFRICAN AMERICAN LIVES 2 delves into the histories of renowned figures including comedian Chris Rock, actor Morgan Freeman, poet and author Maya Angelou, actor Don Cheadle, singer Tina Turner, and radio host Tom Joyner, among others, to reveal their ancestry through genealogical investigations and DNA analysis. The AFRICAN AMERICAN LIVES 2 DVD includes four hour-long episodes that trace the participants' ancestry backward from the early 20thcentury, through the Civil War, to the early years of the United States and finally to Africa.

AFRICAN AMERICAN LIVES 2 *is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 TVs with Dolby Digital English 5.1 or 2.0 Stereo. Total runtime is 240 minutes.

DVD Breakdown
*Episode 1: The Road Home

Episode One focuses on stories of the participants' ancestors from the early 20th century.

*Episode 2: A Way Out of No Way

Episode Two continues to trace the guests' lineages back through the late 1800s to the Civil War.

*Episode 3: We Come from People

Episode Three reveals stories of participants' ancestors during the early years of the United States.

*Episode 4: The Past Is Another Country

Episode Four presents fascinating discoveries about participants' lineages thanks to DNA analysis.
