CAN YOU DIG IT?

Classic 1970s Sesame Street Episodes Groove Onto DVD November 6, 2007 From Genius Products And Sesame Workshop

DVD Bonus Features Include The First Sesame Street Episode Ever Created, Never-Before-Broadcast

It was the 1970s – Grease was the word, Farrah was the ‘it’ girl, pet rocks were hot and Sesame Street continued to entertain and educate children while on it’s way to becoming the longest running children’s television show in history. Melding classic entertainment with education, audiences can groove down to 123 Sesame Street and hang with Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert, Ernie and the rest of the neighborhood! SESAME STREET: OLD SCHOOL VOLUME TWO debuts as a three-DVD set on November 6 from Genius Products and Sesame Workshop, the non-profit organization behind Sesame Street. Featuring episodes and bonus bits from 1974-1979, SESAME STREET: OLD SCHOOL VOLUME TWO offers over eight hours of classic vignettes, introduces Roscoe Orman in the role of Gordon, includes celebrity appearances from singer-songwriter Paul Simon, folk artist Judy Collins and comedian and actress Lily Tomlin. In addition, “Happy Days’” Henry Winkler and Ron Howard guest starred in their signature roles as ‘Fonzie’ and ‘Richie’ in a skit about oral hygiene. The set features 57 bonus segments, plus the premiere episodes from each of the five seasons, which have been completely restored.

SESAME STREET: OLD SCHOOL VOLUME TWO features the first pilot Sesame Street episode, which has never been broadcasted. The set comes packaged with a 12-page booklet with behind-the scenes information and photos, and a special collectible reproduction cel from the popular Sesame Street animated film “Pinball Number Count.” The DVD set will be available for the suggested retail price of $39.93. As a nonprofit, product proceeds and philanthropic support endow Sesame Workshop’s educational research and creative content for children around the world.

Synopsis: SESAME STREET: OLD SCHOOL VOLUME TWO picks up right where Volume 1 left off, including the grooviest Sesame Street memories from 1974 to 1979! The set features cats like Don Music and Roosevelt Franklin, Guy Smiley and Fat Blue and encourages viewers to break out their boogie shoes to far out classics like “What’s the Name of That Song?” and “Telephone Rock!”
